Apart from spasms, you may notice other eye symptoms with a COVID-19 infection. These include, dry eye, itchiness, redness, conjunctivitis (pink eye), sensitivity to light, eye soreness and eye-watering.
If you have conjunctivitis from coronavirus, it is important to isolate yourself as you may infect others if you touch your eyes and then touch someone or surfaces without disinfecting your hands. Avoid touching your face, especially your mouth, nose, and eyes.
According to data, doctors believe that 1%-3% of people with coronavirus will get conjunctivitis which happens when the virus infects a tissue called conjunctiva. This tissue covers the inside of the eyelids and prevents microbial entrance into the eye.
